Remote users using VPN to this 2003 server through a
Linksys router (BEFSR41) get "Server not responding".
This worked well with 2000 Server. I have openned ports
47, 500, 1701, and 1723 on the router and still doesn't
work. Any thoughts?

Thanks

The router is configured for PPTP and IPSEC passthrough.
Other than the additional ports (was 1723 only), VPN
worked fine through the router to the, now retired,
Windows 2000 Server.

Thanks for the help.

Still doesn't work, but here's what else I did:

Looked up problem in Linksys web site. Upgraded BEFSR41
firmware. Checked every page in the router config GUI for
possible related issues. It does work when the DMZ is set
for the server IP address, but this is not acceptable,
since the server will be exposed.

If it works through the DMZ port, the problem is definitely with the
filters that the Linksys applies to firewall traffic. Have you forwarded tcp
port 1723 to the server's LAN IP? Does the client get an error 721? If it
does, the firewall is probably blocking GRE.
