server 2003 and xp pro

i have a computer which is running 2003 and another computer which is
networked to it using xp pro

however when i try and log on to the domain from the xp pro computer it will
take 2 -3 minutes to do the logon process

tried spyware scans and virus - but no problem there

any suggestions

Make your 2003 computer a DNS server and point your XP computer to your
2003 for DNS.

its set up as a dns akready done that

DNS is setup correctly and your XP computer is using your 2003 as the
primary DNS?

yes its reconise the network - but takes ages to logon

That did not answer the question. What DNS address is specified on the
XP computer? Do an ipconfig /all from a command prompt. Does it show the
DNS server address to be the IP address of your server?
