server with 2 NICs - WINS configuration ?

Hi NG,

we run some hundred servers. Typically each server contains two NICs
and is connected to 2 different networks. Following the hint of one of
our "gurus" we have configured WINS for both NICs.
In the meantime I cannot believe this hint anymore. DNS knows each
server under two different names depending on the IP address. But WINS
knows the server by its NetBIOS name and this one is unique for the
server.
Since we are experiencing problems that might depend on WINS
configuration (removing WINS addresses from the second NIC stops these
problems), we want to reconfigure all our servers.
Do you have recommendations for our configuration (regarding WINS) ?

That was bad advice. Run WINS on only one Nic.
