I have a few pieces of networking hardware, i have a:

Linksys WRV54G VPN Router
Linksys BEFW11S4
Netgear FS108 8-port Switch
A Standard Server with Netgear Gigabit NIC
Windows Server 2003 Enterprise trial (due to faulty disk) Installed on Server.

I want to use the Windows Server 2003 DHCP Server instead of the Internal
Linksys DHCP Server. I've had problems!

I think it went wrong when i set it up. I disabled DHCP Server on the router
and it still will assign IP's to clients, but the internet doesn't work
(through the gateway) and i need to know how to set up def. gateways

Thanks

Stephen

On the Windows Server 2003, in DHCP console, open the scope you configured
and right-click on Scope Options. Click Configure Options and add option
#003 Router. Enter the IP address of the internal NIC of your router.

By the IP Address of the internal NIC of my router does that mean the default
gateway IP on my WRV54G (Linksys Broadband Router with 54G wireless and VPN
Function.

Thanks!

No, it means the LAN Interface IP# of the WRV54G

The LAN Interface is considered "internal" relative to the LAN
The WAN Interface is considered "external" relative to the LAN

??? I can't make it any simple than that. If you aren't able to work out
what that means then you don't have a prayer of dealing with any of this
stuff.
It would be like we aren't speaking the same language.

These groups were meant primarily for IT Professionals. They are for IT
Professionals to ask each other question and help each other out with
problems.

"Home users" do come here,...and we do try to help,...but there is only so
far things can be "dumbed down".

Why are you even using DHCP at all? You've only listed one computer!
