Is the following possible? I've been feedling with it and it just
doesn't wanna work and I am starting to think that maybe its not
possible.

I have an APC swith that has a serial port on it. I'd like to connect
to that switch via a set of modems. Ascii chart should help.

APC switch with console
port-->modem------------modem-on-sun-box-->sunbox

from the sunbox I'd like to be able to dial in and login to the APC
switch. I can login to the APC with a Null modem cable from any PC so
I think its doable because null modem is just simulating real modem
connection right?

any modem junkies out there...

Yeah, at a minimum you should be able to configure the modem
on the APC switch for just a dumb 3-wire connect to the switch
console port. Looks like APC may have some useful tech tips on
this subject, see
http://nam-en.apc.com/cgi-bin/nam_en...cGFnZT0x&p_li=
for an example.
