serial convertor

Need a little help please, we have a laptop with no serial
port, we bought a usb to serial convertor. We can't get
it to work. We were told to reload software but convertor
didn't come with any.

Please point us in the right direction.

What make/model converter are you trying to use? Have you checked the
manufacturer's web site for a suitable driver?
