model number could be useful. What are you trying to connect them to ?

in general a router has a single WAN port and a number of LAN ports.
Yuo would connect the WAN port of the 2nd router to a LAN port on the
first. The two LANs would have different IP address ranges for the
router to route between them.

If you want everything on the same IP address range you need a
wireless access point not a second router. Some wireless routers will
change to access point mode.

That's the set-up I have. The wireless O/P on my first modem/router failed and
was not strong enough to give me a useful range so I got a wireless router and
connected one of the output ports of the modem/router to the input of the
wireless router. I do not recall having any difficulty setting them up. I
don't think I made any changes to the original set-up and just followed the
instructions to set-up the second one.

my first router is belkin 4 ports, and second one is Linksys wireless G with
4 ports.
I can't access the internet from pc connected to the 2nd router.
belkin's ip is 192.168.2.1 with submask 255.255.255.0
the second router 192.168.192.1 with submask of 255.255.255.0
not sure if i need do some special setting on the first one or the second to
have the pc access thru the sencond router

thanks,

After browsing other thread, about 2 routerWAN, uplink, Lan ports, etc)

Is that why doesn't work which i connect from the WAN port of the second one
to the Lan port of the first router?
Linksys 4 ports with G wireless setup has an option of router or gateway, is
that make thing more complicated? Which should i set it to, router or
gateway, what is the difference?

thanks again.
