Setting up sendmail on a solo computer.

Trying to send a test message to myself, I get an error in the log that the
above file is missing from /etc/mail/ . This seems to be a common problem
from posts in Google, but I haven't found a real answer. The simplest
solution would be to create one. How do I go about this? I assume that an
empty file would not be sufficient.

A message sent to an "outsider" was sent according to KMail and is not in
the cache with the failed test message. Can I assume that it duly got to
my ISP?

Using Mandrake 9.2.

Doug.
