Hello,

With the command cat /proc/loadavg you can see, what the cpu load is.
Is there a command with which you can determine the send/recieve status
of an ethernet card?
What i want to see, is the average rate of send and recieve in kb/s over
a specific period.

Thanks.

Various ways, you can simply check the output of
'/sbin/ifconfig <device-name>'

For more details you can use 'iptraf' or even 'ntop' if you don't
mind, try a search on freshmeat.net if those didn't come with your
distro.

Good luck
