The WAP54G is just a simple wireless network hub. It doesn't have any
DHCP features or packet filtering features. The AP itself can be
configured as a DHCP client, but it does not do any routing or DHCP
relaying. If you need to keep your WLAN on a different subnet, then
you'll need a wired router (or a switch that'll do VLAN routing) that
can do the DHCP relaying for you.
The WAP54G supports WEP and WPA with Radius authentication. As for
policies, there's a million options, what are you specifically looking
for?
Expect to get around 20-30 Mbps through the access point...
