I have a Linksys wireless PC card for my laptop. I want to
find out if it is safe to use and if it is hacker free
when i use my pc card in hot spots. Is there a chance that
my computer can be hacked into? Thanks!

Since you are using the wireless from hot spots, your
connection is not safe. It is like connecting through a
wired connection to the Internet. You can be hacked
(Linksys or any other card).

You need to have a firewall turned on. Enable the Windows
XP firewall (ICF) on the network settings for the card,
or get ZoneAlarm, Norton, or any other firewall.
