Hello My name is Gary I am new to wireless and have been reading for a few
days. I have a network of 3 PC's and a Mac Powerbook G3.

I recently purchased a DI-524 Wireless router and a Aria Extreme wireless
card for the Mac

I encountered some of the same things as others may have hooking up to a net
finding it was not mine and setting it up to work with my own.

I plan only to use it with my Mac and hard wired for the rest.

My question is: Is it possible to set up my router to only accept only info
from my Mac so others cannot use my router?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Gary

Yes, you can set up either MAC filtering or WEP encryption. Every
network interface device has a unique MAC address and you can therefore
restrict which devices can access your network. WEP encryption sets up
a secure encrypted connection between wireless devices.

Both of these should be fully documented in your access points/wireless
cards manuals and you should refer to them for the details.

Good luck.
