searching LAN chat tools supporting multi-user

I can't connect to Internet,I can only use the LAN.
I can use tool talk to chat with others ,but only one to one.
Are there some tools can support multi-user in LAN?
BTW,I doesn't want to configure my computer to a chat server.

Why don't you want to do that? IRC would allow multi-user chat.

Maybe I have only one choice to configure my computer to a IRC server
to chat with all
my friends in the local area network.
