Searching for IP address

Hi everybody,

I connect my laptop to the internet via a Belkin wireless router.
About once every 2 minutes, I loose the connection as the laptop
searches for a new IP address (even though signal strength is 'very
good'). This is getting very annoying - any ideas why this should
happen and better still, how I might rectify the situation?
