SDSL connection and speeds...

I'm connected to an 1 Mbit SDSL line, through the tests found at
dslreports.com I found out this:


Download speed: 894 kbps
A 109.1 KB/sec transfer rate

Upload speed : 888 kbps

My providers support personell says that about 128 KB/ps download is
good on a 1 Mbit line, but I don't trust them fully as the persons in
question really doesn't have any experience using Linux.

The maximum download speed at any time from any place is 119 KB/sec

I suspect there's a local configuration problem that needs to be solved,
or I could just be plain stupid

Please help!

The best you can do is typically in the neighborhood of 85% of sync speed,
so it looks like you are getting good speed (certainly for US test site
from Norway). We have 1.5 sdsl at work. No chance for extensive testing,
but 1 quick test was 1273/950 or 155.4 KB/sec down. You have a connection
rated 2/3rds as fast doing better than 2/3rds of that. So be happy.
