Scripted configuration of SNMP Service

Can anyone tell me how the SNMP service can be configured through a script?

We are in the process of changing our IP Addressing and will be shortly
changing the addresses of our management servers. I need to configure about
200 servers to accept snmp packets from the new addresses and send traps to
the new address.

I dont want to have to connect to each server and configure manually

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Kevin Gray

Not certain, but you may be able to accomplish this with Windows PowerShell:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...l/default.mspx

Thanks Mike

Unfortunatley power shell only supports Server 2003 and about half of our
servers are still running 2000 server.

Also I've had a quick look and it looks like you can only modify the basic
settings of a service with it but will do more digging. Hopefully it can do
more which will help with a chunk of the servers

Cheers,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Any luck yet?

I am trying to do the same thing at the moment. Luckily I am dealing with
W2K3 only though am trying to find a nice way via scripting to do this.

Thanks,

Simon
