I have a Sony Vaio R5050GL laptop. It doesn't have built in wifi and for
the past year I've been using a D-Link 650+ pc-card. The pcmcia slot on
the 505 is at the left side right at the front. This leaves the pc-card
sticking out right where I (and my kids) rest my palm and wrist of my
left hand. After awhile the pc-card became deformed and slightly bent
over. Before it finally broke off I pulled it and replaced it with a
Netgear MA521 wifi pc-card. It has a much lower exposed profile and, at
least according to the software provided, seems to get a better signal
than the D-link.
Now, my setup is a D-Link 900+ access point accessing a Netgear RO318
router. Connected to the router is a Netgear PS110 printer server. Every
wireless pc in the house (using D-Link wifi cards) can see the print
server and the two printers attached therein, BUT the Netgear wifi card
can't see them.
I'm scratching my head and would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
