Scheduled start and stop of a a network interface

Hi,

I'm building a centralized backup system to our datacenter. The backup
server must be able to back up also the servers in the DMZ and I have a
dedicated backup network to use. The backup server resides in our corporate
LAN and it is also connected to the backup network. The DMZ servers are also
connected to the backup network. So I can backup servers in both the
corporate LAN and in the DMZ.

Hovewer, I don't want that the network connection between the backup server
and the DMZ servers in is always open. Is it possible to schedule the
corresponding network interface in the DMZ servers to start and stop with a
script? These servers are all Windows 2003 Standard edition.

Sure, you may want to use netsh command plus scheduler.

Thank you very much. But what kind of a script will work?

I've tried tons of netsh examples and options but nothing seems to work. The
interface should get an ip address and a subnet mask. Perhaps a default
gateway also.
