scanning in wireless gives IE: Unknown elements

Hello,
I have a wireless lan at home (802.11 with a wireless Access Point).

When I perform scanning (by "iwlist wlan0 scan") I get many lines
with :
IE: Unknown elements

What does this mean ?
What are these unknown elements ? Why do I get it ? I must add that I
see this lines only for my Wireless Router; there are other
Access Points in the neighborhood; I do not see these "IE: Unknown
elements" for these
other Access Points, only for my Access Point.

I want to add the the Wireless Router is from a known vendor (Edimax),
and also the wireless card I use is from Edimax.

This happens a lot.

This means that the Access Point is sending data (Information
Elements) that your iwlist can't understand.

These elements are most of the time proprietary data that are not
defined in the IEEE documents.
