I have an MN-500. When I visit scan.sygate.com or ShieldsUP to do a
firewall test, they always report that my port 113 and port 80 are not
stealthed, but only closed. Is this normal? Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi,

Did you enable the firewall in the security portion of the Base Station
Management Tool?

You should make sure that the configuration of the MN-500 explicitly forbids
remote administration (I dont have a 500, so I cannot tell you where that is
exactly, but that is how it probably is described). That should make sure
the router is not listening on 80 on the WAN interface...

113 is IIRC the ident port and is mostly harmless - apologies to Douglas
Adams - read the description of port 113 at ShieldsUp site for more info:

there is no remote admin port so it does explicitly prohibit remote
administration

I have enabled the firewall, enabled WEP 128-bit encryption, MAC filtering,
you name it. I have checked and double checked the configuration and all
appears well. I still don't understand why port 80 and 113 are not
stealthed. I am not so much worried about 113, but I am kind of worried
about 80.
