SBS2003 Server unable to access internet or ping router

My server is running DHCP to my client PCs and is referring to itself for
DNS. I have entered forwarders in the DNS Settings for the primary and
secondary addresses provided by my ISP. THe single NIC in the server has the
router IP address as the Gateway. The server is physically connected to port
#1 on the router.

Client PCs are wirelessly attached. The client PCs can see the server, log
on to network shares and browse the internet. The server can see the network,
access the client shares (and the NAS unit on the network).

But the server cannot ping anything externally and cannot ping the router
and cannot get out to the internet.

I have Exchange on the same server and Exchange is able (sporadically) to
send out mail and occassionally, some mail will creep in (although it can
take 4 hours for mail sent from my googlemail account to arrive at my
Exchange mailbox.

There is no HOSTS or LMHOSTS file. I have run the Internet Connection Wizard
a number of times but it makes no difference. I've checked the Router Table
and there is nothing unusual in there.

Any ideas would be welcome. Scratching my head doesn't seem to help.

Hello Arthur,

Please post an unedited ipconfig /all from the server. Is any firewall running
on the server that blocks ICMP protocol?

Best regards

Setting my reply to crosspost to the SBS group (you should always post there
even if you crosspost to any other group). Please post an unedited ipconfig
/all.

What is port #1 on the router? Is it a LAN port or is it the WAN port? What
does the port say on the device? What brand name is the router? What type of
line do you have, DSL, ADSL, SDSL, T1, FIOS, cable, etc?
