My company is moving from a Unix based order entry system to a remotely
hosted windows application. It is running on windows server 2000. Originally
we were told to use the Citrix ICA client to access the app. But just
recently, the provider asked us to use the windows RDP client because it
would not require them to pay for licenses like they would have to if we use
the Citrix clients.
The problem is that most of our PC's are running win 98 and a few old
computers are running win 95. We can install and use the RDP client but we
can't save the initial login and password the way we can on win2K clients.
We want to do this because we hire up to 25 temps during the holidays and
don't want them to know the initial logins. A computer literate temp could
install the client at home and access the app if they know the initial
login. Is there a way to save the login and password?
I realize that there is probably a way to keep people from accessing the
server from anywhere but I and one or two others need to be able to access
it from home. Thanks in advance.
