SATA Raid

Hi,

I have face some problem in Adaptec SATA RAID.

It is a HP x236 Eserver. Windows 2003 with AD is running before I
create SATA RAID 0(Striping) to improve disk I/O.

By enabling the SATA RAID in the Adaptec Configuration Utility, I
proceed to create SATA 0 Array. Both hard drive are Western Digital
80GB 7200 rpm (8MB) version.

After Migrating to RAID 0, Windows 2003 Server does not starts
properly. The system restart a few seconds after loading Win2k03. I
can't boot properly using safe mode too.

Any advise?

Ping do you understand Raid0 should NEVER be used on a server? It has no
fault tolerance and if one drive dies there is no recovery of your data. You
are only as good as your last backup.

I suspect the "problem" appeared when you "migrated" to the raid0 config..

If you want this working you need to do a repair reinstall and have the sata
raid 2003 drivers ready on disk [hit f6 when you see it in the lower left
corner during install to load the 03 raid driver].

So you boot the w03K cd via the bios which will start install. Don't go
into recovery console. When given the choice between new and repair existing
choose repair existing install.

Once complete your data/apps will be intact but you will have to redo all
updates/service packs since you are back at install defaults.
