Sat wideband

I have a situation where I have a Sat hookup at a clients
home.Not being familiar with DTV sat hookups I took a netgear wireless down
there and expected
to hook up the doctor and his wife's laptops.When I started looking around I
found that the DTV sat was USB
right to his desktop.Seemingly no rj45 .How the heck am I going to hook this
up?One of those ether to usb dongles?Does anyonr make
a wireless router with usb ports in, and at least one out?
I'm probably going to have to mickey mouse somethig up.
I need to get the desktop hardwired and two laptops on wireless.Any
conventional way to do this?I'm a bit new to wireless but have a good bit of

Yes, and there are some drivers on that PC.
You'll need that PC on all the time to act as an ICS gateway to a standard
card in that PC, then you can network whatever you want.

As I understand it, Satellite Internet requires a PC to run the connectivity
software.

Assuming the desktop PC is Win98 or better, install an ethernet NIC in it
and enable internet connection sharing. Hook the "netgear wireless" (you
didn't say what this is) to this new NIC.

If the "netgear wireless" device is a wireless router, disable DHCP.
Internet connection sharing will handle that.

The only caveat is that nothing works (including laptop-to-laptop file
transfers) unless the desktop computer is running.

There is a satellite router for the direcway...but it will cost $500+ clams.

I am using ics. What I did is just find a cheap computer, load up the
direcway software, and let is work as the "router". Works good...but keep
the "router pc" fairly stripped.
