I have Samba on a NAT gateway running Red Hat 9, and I'm having problems
with where broadcast packets are going. Here's the structure of the
network:
----- 192.168.2.0 ----- Class B ------
|LAN| ---- eth1|NAT|eth0 ---- |WINS|
----- ----- |----|
The problem is that broadcast packets are coming from the NAT'd side of the
NAT/Samba server unNAT'd, i.e. the WINS server is picking up requests from
192.168.2.1 (the NAT server), which should be the fully routeable Class B
on eth0. I've set interfaces like this:
interfaces = eth1 eth0 lo0
I've tried firewalling off 192.168.2.1 on the NAT box, but that causes it
not to become a domain master browser. Any ideas on how to solve this
problem?
