I have problem accessing folders from windows XP on samba server
xp client has full access to shares but folders cannot be removed
because windows shows partial read-only attribute on this folder
and it can not change it.
Unix acl are OK - full access.

I use samba 2.2.7-1.7.3 and 2.2.7a-7.9.0

my config:

[global]
## netbios parameters ##
workgroup = inf
netbios name = files
server string = "xxxxx"
#os level = 116
#wins support = yes
local master = yes
#preferred master = yes
time server = yes
## sercurity ##

# logging #
log file = /var/log/samba/%m.log
max log size = 0

# security mode #
security = share
#security = user

# connections #
follow symlinks = no
deadtime = 15
#max connections = 16

# passwords #
smb passwd file = /etc/samba/smbpasswd
encrypt passwords = yes
null passwords = yes

# network config #
bind interfaces only = yes
interfaces = 10.2.1.3/255.255.255.0
#hosts allow = 10.2.1.

## character set ##
client code page = 852
character set = ISO8859-2

# here is my problematic share
[a]
path = /home/samba/a
invalid users = root guest nobody
username = admin
write list = admin
browseable = no
hosts allow = 10.2.1.10

who owns the folders?

Are you logged in as the user in question, or trying to temporarily
access a folder while logged in as someone else?

logged user is mapped to admin ( username=admin ) and admin has full
rights to directories
in win98 and linux it works excellently but xp sees read-only folders

What do the samba logs say about the rejected accesses in /var/log/samba?
