Samba & Backslash Handling

Hi All,

I am using rsync to back up a windows XP client to a Linux box running
Samba 3.0. This works very well except for one thing and that is the
way samba interprets \'s. After my backup has run, if I map a drive
to the samba share I see my 'My Documents' folder is now called
DPBIX~1. If I telnet to the Linux server I see that I have a
directory called 'Documents and Settings\Dave\My Documents'in my home
directory. So in other words the \ is now part of the directory name
instead of being a separator between directory names. I'm sure there
must me a way to deal with this but I can't find it. Can someone
help?

Thanks in advance,

Dave.
