Samba 3 (the current version) doesn't fully support ADS. This should be
possible with Samba 4, but to date it's only been released in a
"technology preview" ("TP") version, which is intended for developers and
as a "sneak peek" at what will be available. It'll be months (maybe over a
year) before Samba 4 is finalized.
In the meantime, Samba can function as a Windows NT domain controller.
Depending on your needs, this might or might not be enough. Configuring
Samba in this way requires far more explanation than a single e-mail
message can provide, though. I suggest you check the documentation on the
Samba Web site or pick up a book on the subject, such as my own
_Definitive Guide to Samba 3_ from APress.

You can configure just about any Linux system via SSH by using text-mode
tools (namely, your favorite text-mode text editor -- vi, Emacs, nano,
etc.). The details for FTP depends on what FTP server you're running, so
you'll need to post more details.
