Am I the only one who can't make OS/2 access Linux
boxen using Samba 3? NAICT, I've configured my new
Fedora install exactly like I did Mandrake, RedHat,
and SuSE boxen in the past. All the v2.x are accessible
in OS/2, while in both Fedora Core 0.95 and 1 I've been
unable to get them to work. Here is output from
various commands in OS/2 and Linux:
[C:] net view
Server Name Remark
-----------------------------------------------
\\Fedora1Machine SAMBA SERVER 3.0.0-15
\\OS2Machine OS/2 MCP
\\SuSE8.2Machine Samba Server 2.2.7a-SuSE
The command completed successfully.
[C:] net view \\SuSE8.2Machine

isospace Disk CD Storage

tmp Disk tmp
The command completed successfully.
[C:] net view \\Fedora1Machine
NET3502: OS/2 error 65 has occurred.
SYS0065: Network access is denied.
[C:] net use X: \\SuSE8.2Machine\tmp
The command completed successfully.
[C:] net use Y: \\Fedora1Machine\tmp
NET2758: The system cannot connect to the server.
SuSE8.2Machine$ findsmb

IP ADDR NETBIOS NAME WORKGROUP/OS/VERSION

192.168.0.53 P5S-B [IBMPEERS] [Unix] [Samba 3.0.0-15]
Fedora1Machine$ findsmb

192.168.0.53 P5S-B [IBMPEERS] [Unix] [Samba 3.0.0-15]
I never did figure out why findsmb never sees the OS/2 box,
but since it doesn't prevent Linux from using the OS/2 shares, I
never pursued that problem.
TIA
