I had lots of email exchanges with their support people - whose command of
the English language wasn't wonderful (but much better than my command of
Chinese!) They kept telling me to update the firmware - and pointed to
various links telling me what version I should have. The documents they
referenced were very confusing - and contradicted each other - leaving me no
wiser as to whether I'd *already* got the latest firmware or not. Some of
the instructions even extended to opening the unit up and mucking about with
jumpers in order to flash it - which would pretty certainly have invalidated
any warranty from my UK supplier.
I'm afraid I decided to cut my losses and go for something slightly more
expensive.
Other people have used Safecom kit and are quite happy with it. I guess it
either works or it doesn't - and if it doesn't, you're pretty much stuffed.
