Running MN-700 on web server

Hey, I have seen posts like this and have tried to
understand them, but can't.

Basically, I am currently running a website off of my
computer. I just hooked the MN-700 up to that same
server. When I go to that page it brings me to the
Management Tool instead of my hosted webpage. Is it
possible to make it work to where I can only view the
Management Tool through the program on the PC (if so,
how??) and be able to type in the domain that I am
hosting and view that website instead of the Management
Tool.

Help in this matter will be MOST appreciated!

Thanks

It should work basically that way, except that you can
reach the router through 192.168.2.1 (or router name).

Did you forward port 80 to the server? If not, set a
persistent port forwarding (with Apache app-triggered also
works, but I didn't try with IIS). Once you do this, the
domain will be working as before for Internet users ^_^

Loopback was not supported by the original firmware (ie.
ability to use the WAN IP from within LAN clients) -- a
recent update may have fixed this somewhat, but I haven't
had the time to play with it yet -_-

I DMZed the Domain's new 192.168.2.x IP. Asked a friend
to visit the site and he said it worked.. However, it
still shows the management tool on my end. I am not sure
how to forward port 80 to the server. I have tried
using "Persistent Port Forwarding" but I am unsure on
what to put in the spaces for "Inbound port(s)"
& "Private port(s)". Let me know if I am completely off
track.

Thanks.

The Port Forwarding is better than the DMZ, since it only
opens the port you want to open. Also, loopback is not
working for the DMZ (known bug) -- that's why you are
getting the router pages, while your friend sees the web
server.

Enter same port number 80 on both boxes for port
forwarding, and turn off the DMZ. With Persistent port
forwarding (or DMZ) you must have assigned a static IP to
the PC (you do this on the PC TPC/IP settings).
