Runas question

Hi,

If I take over a client computer running XP or 2000 Pro using Windows
Messenger or some other remote assistance program and want to do a Windows
update but the end user who's logged into the computer does not have admin
rights, how do I use the Runas command to update the computer?

I don't know that you can run Windows Update with 'run as' from the program
menu shortcut created by default - you could just log in as an admin
instead. If you have a large enough network, look into SUS instead.

A shot in the dark:

have you tried right clicking on the windows update shortcut within the
"start" button menu, and launching the windows update within a runas context?

I will suggest you to explore the SUS and the WUS technologies, both will
enable you to "push" updates to your clients workstations...
