I have recently upgraded from Linksys BEFW11S4 (802.11b) to D-Link
DI-624 (802.11g). I first unplugged my Linksys and hooked up
everything to the D-Link. It works fine, except that when a laptop
with B only mode connects to the network. You know what happens in
mixed modes :-(

I was wondering if I could use the Linksys to handle B only traffic
and D-Link to handle G only traffic. Since we only have one DSL
connection, I was wondering what the best way to hook these two
routers up would be?

thanks.
Mark

Turn off the router features of the Linksys to turn it into an AP.
Set the D-Link to G only.

Interesting that you are having this problem, though. My experience with the
Linksys WRT54G shows that in a home environment, a B client does not slow
down the G clients.

Run each of them on channels (1 and 11 for example) that don't overlap and
give them different SSID's.
