How to run a program on a remote networked peer

Hi,

On a tcp/ip LAN, is it possible to remotely run a program on a networked
peer host ?
For example, host A (win 98) is networked with host B (win 98). Host B has
full acces to the shares of host A (such as the C: drive). While working at
host B, I want to execute a program on host A (just a simple .exe file that
doesn't even produce any output on the screen). The program is stored in the
C: drive of host A and I want it to run on the CPU of host A. The problem is
that I'm at host B.
I know there are lots of third party utilities (being PC Anywhere one of
them) to achieve this, but I want to know if there is a simple way of doing
it by means of Windows 98 native networking facilities. In case it isn't
possible to do with Windows 98 native tools, a third-party, command-line,
light-weight utility would be OK too.

Thank you,

Fernando Ronci

It's called File and Printer Sharing because you can share files and
printers. Not programs.

Hope that makes sense...

Most programs have to be installed on a computer to run on that
computer. The installation process copies files to the hard disk and
creates entries in the system registry database.

Try running A's program from B. It might work for a very simple,
self-contained program, but it's likely to fail.
