The RSPCA raided the home of a Merseyside woman last week. 70 year
old Pat Seager from Rock Ferry in Wirral spent her life savings on
caring for animals for over 20 years. She took any animal in and
Merseyside Police took injured and unwanted pets to her, even donated
money to her for an aviary. The former teacher was targetted by RSPCA
officials after hundreds of complaints over the RSPCA failing in their
duty of care and ignoring the public. Pat cared for animals the RSPCA
refused to rescue - this was featured in many NW newspapers. They
also targetted Freshfields animal sanctuary in Liverpool and now plan
other raids on animal refuges to stamp out the competition. That's
how they see it - competition and lack of income to what is essentialy
a business with directors taking huge salaries. People don't bother
giving to the RSPCA any more as they ignore injured animals and refuse
to treat them, there are many examples of the "can't be bothered"
attitude. The sudden stop in income and bad publicity has now started
a campaign to close all animal shelters in the area.
Please give any donations to a local animal sanctuary, do not waste it
on the RSPCA.
