If this issue has been posted before, I apologize for the redundancy.

I have a Windows 2003 Ent Srv box with 2 NIC's. NIC A is a GB card
pointing to the LAN. NIC B is a MB card pointing to the internet. RRAS
server is running and works well 98% of the time. The issue is the
service hangs periodically and will not route traffic, but retains
connection on the NIC's. The service doesn't crash or stop
completely...it just hangs and quits processing. And there is no VPN
here...just NAT and routing.

For now I have a (admittedly hacky) workaround process that checks for
ping responses from the internet, if there is no response the service
is restarted. And this process works for the current implementation
but will quickly be insufficient when the business process changes. I
have checked NIC bindings, verified DCHP settings, etc. But I seem to
be missing something. Can someone lend me a hand with this one? I
can't seem to find my root cause. Here is a little info to get started
on. I'm afraid the problem is painfully obvious and I just can't
see the forest for the trees!
