I am having a problem setting up a 2008 VPN server. I have the server set
up, everything works for about 12 hours. You can access the internal network
and resources fine. Something happens after 10-12 hours. I cannot access
the domain, or the internet. I can't ping 127.0.0.1, or anything else for
that matter. From the LAN, I cannot ping back to the RRAS server. I don't
think it is routing, because the server works all day and in to the night,
but the next morning, I have to reboot to get network connectivity back. I
am not sure where to start. There are errors in the event log, but they are
errors saying that the domain could not be contacted, such as couldn't synch
from time source. This is a brand new server and I have checked Dell.com to
make sure I have the latest drivers.

We need more information to help. Is this server DC, multihomed computer?
Posting back with the result of ipconfig /all may help.

Yes, Multihomed. The internal card is on my internal network. The External
card is a public IP, sm and gateway. I would rather not post the public IP
if I don't have to.

And no, it is a dedicated server that will be only used for RRAS.

It seems to me this is routing issue. Posting the results of ipconfig /all
and routing table may help. You don't need post the real or full Ip address.
You can do x.x.x.64.

I will try and post it tomorrow. I can't get to the server, it is
unreachable again. I still don't understand how it can be fine for 10-12
hours and then it loses it way.
Thanks for the help.
