I'm attempting to enable RRAS but I keep getting this error message:

"ICF (Internet Connection Firewall) is currently enabled on <machinename>.
To configure RRAS, disable ICF and try again."

I do not have ICF enabled and even disabling the ICF service does not help.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Mike

Sorry I can't help, but this sounds familiar, try to do a search on this
forum and you might (most likely) find solutions.

The error that I have seen is that ICS is currently enabled. To fix either
this problem or the one I've seen, go to the network connections for your
server and look at the advanced settings. If (in the case I outlined) ICS is
enabled, disable it by unchecking the box that says "Allow other computers to
share this internet access". If ICF is enabled (as you have stated), you
should see a tab or box for that as well.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I had this problem and i have a solution, but you probably won't like it. I
scratched my head and searched everywhere for a solution, but only through
taking somewhat drastic measures did I fall upon the answer.

Demote the server *cough - go to network properties and i guarantee you that
it has ICS enabled (even if you don't remember doing this prior to AD
installation). Disable it, promote server. Viola.

Silly really isn't it
