hello,

is there a way how to enable any form of tracing/logging functionality in
the rpcproxy.dll, please? I can actually trace IIS traffic with http logs
and failed request tracing, but don't know about any means how to trace the
actions or errors happing inside the rpcproxy.dll itself.

thank you very much.

ondra.

Hello,

Thank you for posting here.

According to your description, I understand that:

You want to enable the trace log about RPC_IN and RPC_OUT data happening in
rpcproxy.dll.

If I have misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Explanations:
=====================
If you enable the logging on the website that contains the RPC virtual
directory you will be able to see the general log of the RPC over HTTP. For
example:

Date Time IP Address RPC_IN_DATA /rpc/rpcproxy.dll
FQDN.companyname.com:6002 443 domain\username IP Address MSRPC 404 2 1260
Date Time IP Address RPC_OUT_DATA /rpc/rpcproxy.dll
FQDN.companyname.com:6002 443 domain\username IP Address MSRPC 404 2 1260

Hope it helps. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not
hesitate to let me know.

Best regards,
Miles Li

but this is IIS log. I would like to see what is happening inside the
RPCPROXY.DLL itself. Is it possible?

thank you again.

Hello,

As far as I know there is no log in RPCPROXY.DLL for RPC over HTTP
interaction trace. As the issue is related to IIS, you can also create a
new thread in the IIS.net forum to get help from IIS experts.

Thanks for your understanding.
