RPC to communicate between Windows and Unix

Hi,

I want to use RPC to transfer data between Windows(2000, NT) and Unix.

Would help if I could get some information on the following:
a. Do we have an RPC that can be used on both Windows and Unix??
b. Is it freely available??
c. Would RPC be faster (at runtime) than CORBA??

You can get Perl modules implementing RPC. These should
run on Windows and Unix (of course you need Perl installed).
They are freely available (GPL'ed) from CPAN.
