Hello,

I have a site with 3 W2K Servers and 2 Broadband connections. Both broadband connections have routers behind them that can port forward. Problem is, when a server has the default gateway of one of the routers then port forwarding from the other router does not work. Hence i cannot have both connections pointing to the same RRAS server for the purpose of VPN authentication. have tried all i can think of - multiple gateways, tried some static routing. still the same issue

Not sure how you would do this in w2k but in NT4 we would just create a
second ip/virtual IP address for a nic card. So the machine would have 2 ip
addresses. 1 ip address with a gate way of the 1 router and the 2nd ip
address with the gateway of the 2nd router. Then point the 2nd router to
the new ip.

try this KB. I had a similar issue today and this fixed me up.

Make sure to add a static route in the PHYSICAL router back to the RRAS server, otherwise packets will be one way only.
