routes got deleted automatically.

Hi,
We are facing some problem in RedHat Linux 2.4 Enterprise

1) We have added the route to other network, but suddenly the route got
deleted. Neither, the network was restarted nor the machine was.
2) In case we configure the routes through GUI, in which file does it
get saved.

There's RHEL 2.1, 3.0, 4.0. Never heard about 2.4?

You can display the version with:

cat /etc/*release

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-<interface>
