I successfully installed a Belkin router on my Win XP SP 2 system. I am
having problems that did not exist with the old router, Netgear. I tried
unplugging the Belkin and plugging in the Netgear. No Internet
connection. What do I have to do to run the Netgear temporarily? After
testing I want to continue with the Belkin.

You don't give us very much information. If you have a cable/DSL modem,
try:

1. On the XP machine run ipconfig /release - shut down the computer.

2. Unplug power to the modem and the router.

3. Wait several minutes.

4. Restore power to the modem - wait.

5. Restore power to the router - wait.

6. Start the XP machine.

Hi
You did not indicate what type of Internet you are using and what is the
authentication (password) format.

Jack (MVP-Networking).

You might end up with confused authentication.

If I type in ipconfig/release, then the connection will be direct from the
modem, not the router?
