Hello everyone. This is my first post so please be gentle. I am a
relative newbie to the wireless world. My experience is limited to
plugging in and playing with my SMC Barricade ; and configuring our
Wireless Setup.
Our ISP is providing us with a Wireless connection (it serves our
valley). They supply (for a modest fee), an antenna and USB Wireless
card (YDI Diamond USB). Our ISP is using a WEP key (not public AP). My
question: Is there currently existing a router that could take this
USB signal and split it out between my systems?
I have seen the Draytek Vigor 2200USB, it looks promising. Has anyone
tried one with a wireless USB card, such as this YDI card? If so, what
were the results?
I would really like to free up my "server" machine for
applications/gaming etc. Currently Running XP Pro w/ SP1 on a AMD
Athlon XP 2000+ CPU, but is tied up with ICS and the wireless. So does
anyone have any suggestions, reccomendations, comments etc? =(^o^)=
Thanks so much in advance,
Tayra
