Can anyone recommend a router which has a USB port for connecting a
USB modem? I'm looking for something fairly inexpensive which can be
used both for normal (fixed line) broadband but can attach a USB modem
as a backup broadband link.

Only one I know of is the Draytek Vigor series which aren't cheap 'tho
they are bloody good units otherwise..

And do the 3G fallback...

At the Draytek inflated prices I'm happy to forgo the automated 3G
fallback. What about a router at an affordable price with a USB slot
without the automatic fall-back - is there anything on the market
without the Draytek price tag?

There's also the Linksys WRT54G3G - but still about 90 quid.

Depends how much fiddling you want, you could brew your own. Some
routers have USB ports for attaching media... find one of these, install
OpenWRT on it, configure it to use the USB broadband dongle.

I've never actually used OpenWRT, but once installed probably most of it can
be web-configured these days, though the 3G bits may need some fiddling.
Here's one example of doing this:

No experience of either but I found these when asked the same question
recently:

Well we depend on them quite a bit for rather demanding customers out in
the sticks, but as to price it reckon there're worth that for the
support alone...

Just for interest, here is a safety warning concerning the solwise
posted by broadbandbuyer:

Your probably dealing with commercial customers for whom price is no
object. I'm a home user paying out of my own pocket so I'm looking for
something affordable without the gold plated support.

You're quite right. I currently use my mobile dongle on a single PC.
The reason I asked about a router is because it's inconvenient when I
want to host a number of network computers onto my broadband
connection.
