Looking for a router for a small business (about 10 PC's with cable
internet access). The last one I tried was a (Linksys BEFSX41
Firewall/VPN) chopped our internet speed by 75% and rendered E-Mail
unusable. And that was with the tamest settings. Are there any
functional products out there that don't emasculate your upload and
download speeds? Thanks.

Quality is a function of design, materials, and craftsmanship.
Inspection can only confirm quality or reveal deficiencies.
In no case, can quality be inspected into anything.

As an "internet router" I use an old PC (Celeron P400 128mb ram 2gb h/d) and
use smoothwall (http://www.smoothwall.org/) Has a USB modem for ADSL and
connects to the network through a 10mb hub. Rock solid, no speed problems
and a pretty good configurable firewall.
