Can anyone recommend a wireless router that works fine on Pipex ADSL
Max (8Mbps)? Also, does anyone know if there are wireless routers which
have a greater range than most other routers? Again, any models that
are good? Thanks.

any ADSL modem/router/wireless combo will work. Depends what features
are important to you and your use of it.

Speedtouch models support WDS which can be handy if you need a
repeater, you can also use the dmt.mhilfe.de software to tune the
thing to the ADSL line.

I imagine all these pre-N, N and mimo things claim to have greater
range, but I haven't seen any independent repeatable verifiable test
data to indicate one way or the other. They all have the same EIRP
limits when all's said and done.

ISTR Tom's Hardware Guide had/has some reviews but (sorry) I've lost
the various links.

here's one showing Pre-N devices failing to cooperate with each other.
