I am looking for a low cost router that will support a Class B network
with subnet 255.255.0.0. I contacted LinkSys tech support and they
told me that none of their router support a Class B network. I tried
one D-link router and it did not. I did find a Airlink AR420W that
does. I am currently using it but would like to see what my other
options are. I am not interested in the wireless function so it's not
neccessary. I turned the wireless option off on the airlink router.
I'm sure the Cisco PIX and other higher end routers support Class B
but I would like to know if any lower ends such as D-Link,
Netgear,Belkin, SMC etc. do.
It was news to me that Linksys does not support a Class B network.

Matt

A Belkin F5D7230 will support up to a Class A network. BUT, I believe the
DHCP function will only handout a maximum of 100 addresses no matter what
the subnet mask is.

I just checked my lab linksys and sure enough a full class C or less. A
cisco 800 series router is roughly $300, not too expensive.

Thanks for the suggestions. It helps, especially if the one I have
goes out tomorrow. If anyone else has can list any other models,
please do.
