Not sure how to explain this.

In building 1, I have a computer hooked to a Linksys AP (WAP54g). This is
located in the attic with the leftside antenna enabled to an outside
antenna.

In building 2 approx. 2 blocks away, I have a computer hooked to a Linksys
(BEFSR41) router that is hooked to another Linksys AP (WAP54g) which is
located in the 4th floor with its right antenna enabled to an outside
antenna (line of sight to the other outside antenna).

One weird thing, I can't hook the AP directly to the computer in building 2,
The computer can't find it. But when I hook the router first and then the AP
to the router I can access the AP admin settings. This is the only reason
for using the router. Why can't the computer find the AP alone but can find
the Router alone? It use to work with just the AP to the computer.

In building 2, I have the computer hooked to one of the four ports on the
router, and then the AP hooked to one of the 4 ports on the router. If I try
and use the WAN or UPLINK plugins, I am unable to access the ADMIN setting
on either one.

Building 1 AP = 192.168.1.246
Building 2 AP = 192.168.1.245
Building 2 Router = 192.168.1.247

Any idea what setting I would need to get the AP's in building 1 and 2 to
talk with each other. I am able to ping router and AP in building 2 but
can't ping from one building to the other.
