roaming profile synchronization

When a user with a roaming profile connects to the LAN his roaming
profile is downloaded. When he makes a change (f.e. delete icon from
desktop -and let's say the desktop folder is NOT redirected to a
network share!) and he logs off, the change is saved to the network. So
far so good.
My question: if he's disconnected from the LAN on the moment when he
deletes the icon, will the changed profile on his local machine be
saved to the server when he connects to the LAN afterwards?

Thanks,
Kris

Seems easy enough to test - have you?

Well, I did and the local changes aren't synchronized with his roaming
profile on the server. But one would expect it does synchronize,
that's why I posted this message.

I'd presume the changes would get uploaded once the user had logged out and
logged in, but I've never tried this. Is this something you're experiencing
often? What's disconnecting the users in the first place? That's what I'd be
worried about - not the side-effect.

The users aren't getting disconnected. But sometimes they change their
profile when working offline (outside the company).

As in, on laptops?
That should work OK. I do tend to disable roaming profiles on laptops in
general, though - manually change them to "local" once the user is logged
in. Login time will generally improve drastically.
